I spent last week in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates(UAE). The UAE is locate of west of Saudi Arabia and south of Iran. Click here to see it on a map.
I traveled to the middle east to setup and train a new Atomic Learning distributor. I ended up attending a conference where I met several people from all over the world and even ended up on a couple of people’s blogs Hall Davidson’s Media Matters and Darcy Hardy’s blog (I am the one in the picture that is being bragged on the dance floor by a belly dancer.)
The UAE turned out to be one of the most fascinating places I have ever been. I enjoyed riding a camel, having lunch at the only 7 star hotel in the world, jumping sand dunes in an SUV(see the movie below), and watching a city rise from the desert.
The off-dune experience was a recreation of bedouine life, although they probably don’t think of it that way. Truly crazed drivers four-wheeling it over dune in a caravan of speeding, reckless, Toyota landcruisers. The cars are covered with carpet because so many people lose their lunch.
